Ego (Item Level Requirement)
============================

Ego is a requirement on powerful items. It represents the force of
will and awareness needed to control a magical artifact. If your
ego is lower than an item's requirement, you cannot effectively
use it.

How Ego Works
-------------
  Your ego = Level + Insight + Remort bonus (+5 per remort)

Use 'score' to see your current ego value.

When you try to use an item with ego higher than yours:
  * Weapons/Armour: The item becomes unstable and won't save
  * Treasures: You cannot pick up the item

Checking Item Ego
-----------------
Use the 'identify' spell or scroll to see an item's ego requirement.
The output will show something like:

  "This relic has an ego of 75."

This means you need to be at least level 75 to use that item.

Typical Ego Ranges
------------------
  Low-level items:    10-50
  Mid-level items:    50-100
  High-level items:   100-150
  Legendary items:    150-200+

Tips
----
* If you find an amazing item you can't use yet, store it in the
  bank or a container until you level up enough to wield it.
* Pray for insight at a church to increase your ego capacity.
* High ego items are usually found in dangerous end-game areas.
* The identify spell also shows other item properties like stats,
  damage, and special effects.
